MOS 62H Concrete and Asphalt Equipment Operator

The concrete and asphalt equipment operator supervises or operates all equipment used in concrete and asphalt production and paving. Duties for MOS 62H at each level of skill are:

a. Major duties.

(1) MOSC 62H1O. Produces concrete with concrete mobile mixer. Assists in the erection and operation of asphalt producing plant. Operates asphalt distributor, aggregate spreader and asphalt kettle. Assists in operation of asphalt paving and surfacing equipment. Assists in performance of combat engineer missions.

(2) MOSC 62H2O. Erects and operates asphalt plant for the production of hot mix asphalt. Sets up and operates asphalt laydown equipment to meet desired asphalt specifications.

(3) MOSC 62H3O. Directs employment of concrete mobile mixer. Plans and directs layout and erection of asphalt plant. Supervises production of hot mix asphalt. Directs asphalt laydown and rolling operations. Directs combat engineering missions.

b. Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award of MOS.

Concrete and asphalt equipment operators must possess the following qualifications:

(1) A physical demands rating of very heavy.
(2) A physical profile of 222221.
(3) Red/green color discrimination.
(4) A minimum score of 90 in aptitude area GM.
(5) Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator license.
(6) Mandatory formal training (completion of MOS 62H10 course conducted under auspices of U.S. Army Engineer School) or meet the civilian acquired skills criteria listed in AR 60l-210.

c. Additional skill identifiers.

(1) P5-Master Fitness Trainer.
(2) 2S-Battle Staff Operations (skill level 3 and above).
(3) 4A-Reclassification Training.
