MOS 57E Laundry and shower Specialist
The laundry and shower specialist supervises or performs laundry, shower, delousing, personnel and clothing decontamination, and reimpregnation functions. Duties for MOS 57E at each level of skill are:
a. Major duties.
(1) MOSC 57E1O. Receives bulk, individual, or organizational laundry and reviews laundry lists for accuracy of bundle count or contents of individual laundry bag. Segregates, classifies, and marks washable and unwashable items. Operates mobile washers, extractors, dryers, reimpregnation, decontamination, and delousing equipment. Sorts and issues cleaned laundry and equipment. Conducts clothing exchange in conjunction with bag operations. Installs, inspects, operates, and maintains laundry, shower, decontamination and delousing equipment, and generators.
(2) MOSC 57E2O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of skill and provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel. Supervises establishment of laundry or shower facility. Supervises marking, classifying, and washing operations. Coordinates flow of personnel through shower and delousing operations with supported units. Supervises preventive maintenance of laundry, shower, and delousing equipment. Estimates supply requirements, requests supplies, and supervises receipt, storage, and issue of supplies, clothing, and equipment. Prepares facility layout.
(3) MOSC 57E3O. Performs duties shown in preceding level of skill and provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel in accomplishment of these duties. Plans shower reconnaissance operations and organizes reconnaissance teams for selection of operational sites. Coordinates with medical authorities for delousing requirements. Determines personnel requirements and plans and supervises training program. Prepares and develops cost and manpower estimates.
(4) MOSC 57E4O. Determines requirements and adequacy of laundry and shower activities and prepares operational plan to meet requirements. Establishes, evaluates, and monitors unit training and preventive maintenance programs. Consolidates production reports and schedules.
(5) MOSC 57E5O. Performs duties shown at preceding level of skill and provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel. Instructs immediate subordinates in specific phases of command intelligence procedures and enemy intelligence methods. Assist commander and staff officers in appraisal of intelligence, operations, and training procedures. Coordinates operating requirements of subordinate units with major or subordinate units.
b. Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award of MOS.
Laundry and bath specialists must possess the following qualifications:
(1) A physical demands rating of very heavy.
(2) A physical profile of 222222.
(3) A minimum score of 85 in aptitude area GM.
(4) MOS qualification may be attained by meeting the civilian acquired skills criteria listed in AR 601-210.
c. Additional skill identifiers.
(1) P5-Master Fitness Trainer.
(2) 2S-Battle Staff Operations (skill level 3 and above).
(3) 4A-Reclassification Training.
(4) A3-Force Development (TAADS).
d. Physical requirements and standards of grade.
