MOS 63J Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment

The quartermaster and chemical equipment repairer supervises or performs unit and direct support and general support (DS/GS) maintenance on chemical equipment, quartermaster machinery, forced air-heaters, and special purpose equipment. Duties for MOS 63J at each skill level are:

a. Major duties.

(1) MOSC 63J1O. Maintains (unit/DS/GS) and repairs electrical/fuel heater systems, pumps, erdlator type/reverse osmosis water purification systems, decontamination systems, protective filter systems, smoke generator systems, laundry washer/extractor systems (mechanical), dryer/tumbler systems (mechanical), and quartermaster/chemical equipment electrical systems. Maintains internal combustion engine ignition/fuel/cooling/electrical systems. Performs battlefield damage assessment and repair (BDAR).

(2) MOSC 63J2O. Performs duties in preceding skill level, supervises lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties.

b. Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award of MOS.

Quartermaster and chemical equipment repairers must possess the following qualifications:

(1) A physical demands rating of very heavy.
(2) A physical profile of 222222.
(3) A minimum score of 90 in aptitude area MM.
(4) Normal color vision.
(5) Formal training (completion of MOS 63J course conducted under the auspices of the USA Ordnance Center and School) mandatory.

c. Additional skill identifiers.

(1) P5-Master Fitness Trainer.
(2) 4A-Reclassification Training.

d. Physical requirements and standards of grade.
