MOS 02S Special Band Member
The special Band Member performs as a musician or in direct support of the mission of The U.S. Army Band,U.S. Army Field Band, U.S. Military Academy Band, or the 3rd Infantry (The Old Guard) Fife and Drum Corps. Use of MOS 02S is restricted to the special bands only. Duties for MOS 02S at each level of skill are:
a. Major duties.
(1) MOSC 02S3O. Performs as instrumentalist or vocalist in field
music detachment or special band. Serves in administrative, training,
supply, or operations positions.
(2) MOSC 02S4O. Performs as solo instrumentalist or vocalist,
NCO in an instrumental group, band support technician, administrative
and supply support, library support, and a senior vocalist music
annotator/commentator.
(3) MOSC 02S5O. Serves as principal NCO in instrumental or
vocal group, special band, or support section.
b. Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award of
MOS.
The special Band Member must possess the following qualifications:
(1) Physical demands rating-N/A.
(2) A physical profile of 222222.
(3) Be acceptable to commander of special band.
(4) Meet qualifications listed in AR 614-200 or the civilian acquired
skills criteria listed in AR 601-210.
c. Additional skill identifiers.
(1) P5-Master Fitness Trainer.
(2) 2S-Battle Staff Operations (skill level 3 and above).
(3) 4A-Reclassification Training.
d. Physical requirements and standards of grade.
