MOS 35H Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic
The TMDE maintenance support specialist performs and supervises duties involving the calibration and repair of general purpose TMDE, selected special purpose TMDE, calibration standards and accessories. Operates TMDE and calibration standards. Operates and performs preventive maintenance and checks and services (PMCS) on assigned vehicles. Installs, operates and performs PMCS on power generators. Duties for MOS 35H at each level of skill are:
a. Major duties.
(1) MOSC 35H1O. Operates and performs calibration and minor repair of general purpose TMDE and unit and direct support and general support (DS/GS) level maintenance on calibration standards and calibration accessories; operates and performs PMCS on vehicles and power generators.
(2) MOSC 35H2O. Operates and performs calibration and minor repair of selected special purpose TMDE, team and laboratory calibration standards and calibrations accessories; performs calibration, maintenance and repair of Radiation Detecting, Indicating, and Computing (RADIAC) equipment.
(3) MOSC 35H3O. Performs calibration and repair of limited deployed calibration standards. Serves as senior technician on Area TMDE Support Teams (ATST) or in other TMDE support elements. Performs as Radiological Protection Officer (RPO) in facilities having a RADIAC/nucleonics TMDE support mission. Supervises and provides technical guidance to subordinates.
(4) MOSC 35H4O. Performs team related administrative functions, provides supervision, quality assurance, technical guidance, training of subordinates, and coordinates the activities of TMDE support elements.
b. Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award of MOS.
TMDE maintenance support specialist must possess the following qualifications:
(1) A physical demands rating of moderately heavy.
(2) A physical profile of 212221.
(3) Normal color vision.
(4) A minimum score of 110 in aptitude area EL.
(5) Credit for successful completion of one year of high school algebra and general science.
(6) Formal training (completion of MOS 35H course conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army Ordnance Missile and Munitions School) mandatory; or waiver may be granted by Commandant, USAOMMCS, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35897-6090); or meet the civilian acquired skills criteria contained in AR601-210.
c. Additional skill identifiers.
(1) D7-Secondary Reference Laboratory Maintenance.
(2) P5-Master Fitness Trainer.
(3) 2S-Battle Staff Operations (skill level 3 and above).
(4) 4A-Reclassification Training.
